Its origins date back to the medieval period, when during the Angevin domination, the farmhouse served as a refuge for the farmers subjected to the lord.
In the first half of the 17th century, the Serafini – Sauli family purchased the county and the village of Tiggiano , subsequently managing to obtain the baronial title.
Worth noting is the Baronial Palace , a seventeenth-century building with Renaissance elements, testimony to the long rule of the Serafini-Sauli family.
The rear garden (called the orchard ) has a surface area of approximately 6750 m2, and is structured in such a way as to be accessible and passable via paths positioned along the vertical and horizontal axes, dividing it into four parts.
From the garden you can access the woods, which extend for approximately 2.18.00 hectares, a true museum of Mediterranean scrub, rich in imposing trees such as pines, oaks and holm oaks which preserve a typical undergrowth, enlivened by the characteristic scents of thyme, sage, mint and fragrant rosemary.
Along the avenues that divide it into 4 quadrangular zones, fences and benches have been placed to enjoy the serene climate and breathe oxygen-rich air, sheltered from noise and dangers.
In this wonderful green lung you can spend moments of enchanting quiet, cheered by the singing of birds flying from branch to branch on the tall trees.
The site is indicated as a tourist itinerary destination by the GAL, whose experts have classified the flora and fauna that coexist in the forest ecosystem and which are displayed on illustrated panels clearly visible to the visitor.
Spending time in this wonderful place tones the body and spirit and the visitor is amazed by the sense of tranquility that is imprinted on him.
