Melendugno has a privileged geographical position, being halfway between Lecce and the municipality of Otranto , in fact it is approximately 15 km from both.
It is an agricultural center of Salento and owns a vast fiefdom that benefits from the significant tourist influx linked to its marinas located along the Adriatic coast of Salento.
Melendugno comprises six hamlets and marinas :
Melendugno and Borgagne (which are located further inland) have developed agriculture more, with immense olive groves scattered throughout the area.
